Home Safety Stories
Posted on January 25th, 2012 | by admin |I have spent a lot of time talking with a lot of homeowners recently about their home security. I am working to acquire some insight on different ways our homes become at risk. I asked each person I spoke with if they had ever experienced suspicious activity at home. It could have been robbery, a broken window, a suspicious person – whatever. I was surprised that almost everybody had at least one story to tell me. Most of the stories led them to buy a burglar alarm. I have heard that Home Security in Delray Beach is a great option.
One individual told me that he was home for the afternoon, but then left to go pick his son up from baseball practice. When they got back roughly 20 minutes later, one of the windows was broken and several things were missing from inside. He seemed to think he had been watched, and that the thief knew once he left the house. Another mother of three told me that she opened the door for a person who claimed to be a salesperson. After the man pitched his sale, he then asked if he could come inside to speak more about it. She said no thank you, and the man replied by asking if he could still come inside to use her phone. Considering the guy was being persistent, she declined again and shut the door in his face.
We have all had encounters with shady situations and people. Some experiences are worse than others, like that of the first man. The information I am getting will help me figure out what motivates people to get a alarm system. The woman said she quickly chose to get one the very next day.
I have learned about a ton of identical stories from other people. We never know what will happen on a given day. I am sure these people did not wake up that morning and think something unusual would happen that day. It definitely stresses the value in always being proactive.
